Yu-Gi-Oh Theory: Did Dark Synchros inspire Xyz?

This is a small journal. I have been having a few inspirations with the Dark Tuner and Dark Synchro concepts and I've been getting back into 5Ds. Now we all know every "Dark Synchro" that was introduced in the anime was turned to a normal Synchro for others to enjoy. But I looked at the design for the Dark Synchros, and they have a similar scheme to the Xyz Monster Cards.

For the most obvious reason, both the Dark Synchro cards and Xyz cards are both black/dark colored. Second, on the Dark Synchros, the negative level is placed on the other side of the card, much like how Xyz Monster's ranks follow the same position. I thought it was an interesting thing and I just wanted to put this up here.
