Today I just finished watching the 36th Japanese episode of Yugioh Arc-V. So I thought I might as well display my current thoughts and opinions on it.

WARNING! The following information may contain slight spoilers. If you do not wish to know about this information, please leave now.

Yugioh Arc-V introduces more than just the new Pendulum Summoning technique. No, we're introduced with something much more. The invention of Solid Vision. Solid Vision makes every monster, Spell, and sometimes even Trap completely real; allowing the duelists to become more into the duel. This is honestly one of the better ideas I have seen come out. Turbo Duels were cool but with that whole "No regular Spells" thing kinda made it annoying. But, like Turbo Duels, these "Action Duels" gained a new kind of Spell Card, Action Spell Cards. These cards are scattered across the field they are currently in, and each has their own effect. You can only hold one at a time. This seems to be a lot more fair in my opinion.

Anyway back to the Action Duels, our main protagonist, Yuya Sakaki, is training to become an "Entertainment Duelist," a duelist that seeks more fun into entertaining the crowd then winning. Yuya's father was one, but he disappeared during a scheduled championship match, and Yuya was taunted down ever since. We're introduced to his friends, Yuzi, Gogenzaka, and the others and each one has their own style and archetype. I love archetypes, and I must say I am rather impressed with them. At least most.

Then throughout the series we're introduced to some antagonists. Like Shingo Sawatari, this little jerk. I mean, in the span of one episode, Shingo:
1. Stole Yuya's main NEWLY acquired Pendulum Monster cards
2. Kidnapped and held hostage all of his friends
3. Called his deck trash and THREW "trash cards" at him saying that they belong better
4. And mocked his very method/style of dueling.

THIS GUY MAKES ME SO FREAKING ANGRY! OH! And if that wasn't enough, Mr. Rich Boy Wanabee gets a PENDULUM DECK. Jumping on the band wagon much?

Anyway...excuse my anger. We're also introduced to Yuto, a dark duelist who bears a HEAVY resemblance to Yuya. This makes an interesting turn as we see something involving a Revolution.

Aside from the characters, we're given a HEAVY amount of continuity from all other animes. For example, every method of Summoning has been introduced so far; Ritual, Tribute, Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz. This makes me VERY happy. It was nice to see a variety then just one method. This gives not just protagonists but antagonists a variety of methods of dueling. Very nice. Yuya so far as two methods; Pendulum and Fusion. I'm still saying he will eventually get a Synchro monster and a Xyz Monster eventually, and I do hope this happens. It would be awesome to see that.

All in all, this is a very good anime so far and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

=======================================================

But now comes the questions.

1. What time frame is this from?
From my understanding this anime is set in the future, past ZEXAL. Makes sense if you think technology wise. But then again, what happened to everything Heartland City had? Like the moving sidewalks, monorail, and trashbots? And apparently some of the antagonists like Yuto is from a nasty "future" where there is literally a "Dueling War" to which their home, Heartland City, was destroyed. So I am curious to know how this will all piece together in the end.

2. Multiple Yuya's?
I mentioned before there was an antagonist named Yuto that bore a heavy resemblance to Yuya. Now, we're introduced to a new antagonist that ALSO bears a heavy resemblance to them. What? Yuya is a Pendulum user, Yuto is a Xyz user, and now this new one is a Synchro User. And may I must say, I nearly squealed when I saw a Duel Runner again. Now THAT was an interesting twist. But still, what's next? A Ritual Summon user Yuya?

But still, my main opinion and reflection on this series remains: WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE DUBBED?! I WANT TO SEE EVERY BIT OF THIS IN GLORIOUS ENGLISH! Do not get me wrong, I do not mind the subtitles, but I think I will understand more when I hear it then read it.
